hockey night tonight & digital cameras & physical therapy
I am SO very excited about the NHL exhibition tonight in my AHL town! Too bad I sit WAY up at the top and therefore won't have a chance to get very close to any of the players. Rumour has it that there will be some very BIG names there tonight...
I'm currently bidding on a digital camera on eBay. When I started, it was less expensive than the one I'd been checking out in Target yesterday. See, the display went on my Canon. I can view pictures I've taken before 9/11, but everything since has shown up as a black square. It's sad really. I took it to our only camera repair shop and they said they could send it out for $150 and maybe Canon could do something about it. But, because there's a chink out of the battery casing - meaning I deliberately dropped it and want them to fix it! - they can't guarantee that anything will be able to be done. Therefore, I'm shopping for a new one. Circuit City & Target yesterday, eBay today - we'll see what happens on the most recent bid.
Should you ever need to buy a digital camera, don't go to Circuit City - you will get ignored! Seriously. There were several employees nearby and many who walked past the cameras, but none of them stopped to help any of the 4 potential customers. The first woman was like, "Apparently we're not getting any help today!" and walked away. I kept looking for like 5 more minutes, and ended up walking out. I guess it's kinda nice to be able to shop without being bothered by a salesperson? But at the same time, you can't exactly pick up a digital camera and go to the check out at CC. Makes me wonder if they really want to sell digital cameras?
So I wandered over to Target. There were 2 employees behind the electronics counter. They were very helpful - pulling out models to examine, finding the batteries, explaining the differences between Canon & Kodak. I fell in love with one of the Kodak ones - 5 MP, 10 Optical Zoom - very nice! But didn't have the money on me, so said I'd be back.
Then, randomly at Starbucks this morning, a friend left his laptop open while he made a phone call. He was logged into eBay, so I did a search for digital cameras. Found very nice cameras for very decent prices. Since I've been home, I've been searching & bidding. But I keep getting out bid. Guess I'll see what happens in the next 4 hours...
I'm sure there are plenty of other things I could be doing. Avon, perhaps?! I got an order - hooray! I don't think I'm cut out for the direct sales thing. I'm not very good at setting a schedule for myself and being able to follow it. This is why I think this is not a good plan for me. I would like people to just decide to order stuff without my pushing it down their throats.
Physical therapy was a bear yesterday. I casually mentioned that I was feeling tight "right about here". PT says, you mean here? as he jammed his thumb into my very sore muscle. He gave it a good work-over and later claimed he used his "soft thumb". I'm not sure I believe him - I have bruises today. But it's supposed to be good for me... Nice to have the weekend off.
Well, I guess that's all for now, folks! :)
