Ok, I admit it. I'm a sucker for pop culture. I cried when Brad & Jennifer split up. I read the occasional UsWeekly or InTouch when I'm working at the mall. Recently there was a picture of Seal and Heidi Klum in an article was about what to wear for your wedding when you are pregnant. It praised them for breaking the taboo of a shotgun wedding. That bothered me, but I finished reading the magazine anyway.
That night in my devotions, I read this verse: "That which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." Luke 16:15. I was like WOW! People read celebrity magazines and look up to these people and in many cases, what they are reported as doing is so wrong in God's sight. Later I read this verse from Proverbs 8:35. "For whoso findeth me (wisdom), findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord." I was struck by how much better it is to have favour of the Lord than to be highly esteemed among men!

I finally got on another ferry. Hey, they cost money and you have to have the time to go somewhere... Anyways, a bunch of us went to Bainbridge Island for dinner Saturday night. We ate at Cafe Nola and it was FAB! But then we had to run to catch the 10:30 ferry back to Seattle. But it was FUN!!! :) And I think I could live over there. :)

Well, I'm off to Seattle to attend WWC. I don't want to go. I am terrible at packing, but I think it's almost done. I already said bye to everyone. I feel like I don't fit in on either coast. I'm headed to RF after WWC. I'd rather just go there. (No offense to my West Coast friends.) I spent most of today working on VC stuff to help Mom out. I'm whiny and I have a killer headache and I can't find stuff that I need to pack. And I don't have a job. Wow. Anybody wanna be my friend? Sorry about that. Rough week & a half. Love you! xo

red-letter 24 hours

After working at the mall until 9 last night, I went to the grocery store. A cute hockey player followed me in, although I did not know I was being followed. He stopped me in the produce aisle to chat. He appologized for not remembering my name. He's the sweetest guy...who's NP?! I promised to make him a cheesecake sometime, but since we didn't exchange phone numbers and cheesecake is best when kept chilled, I'm not sure when this will happen. sigh. It gets better... I was on my lunch today, sitting near the door, when this guy in a blue soccer pullover and shades walks in and says hi. I was like, I think I know you. Then he took off his shades and I was like OH! It was my freshman seminar teacher from my first semester of my last attmpt at college life. He's hot! He gave me a big hug and we chatted for a while. When my lunch was done, he hugged me like 3 times and kissed me on the cheek and said "call me". Oh, did I mention that he's single? dreamy si...
