so many cute boys
Hockey started back up on Friday. It was fun to see a NHL game in our little arena. Even better was seeing all the people I hadn't seen since we dropped out of the playoff race WAY too early. The concourse was crowded with people catching up on their summers and the latest trade gossip. The players who weren't playing were somewhere in the crowd, signing autographs, waiting their turn to play the next night. Such is the preseason.
Amongst those walking around was the cute friend of the cute boy that works at my wireless company. Every time he saw me, he said "hey!" I couldn't figure out why he was being so friendly all of the sudden, unless he knew that I'd reconnected with his friend? Not that I was complaining. It just amused the people I was talking to that I would say hey and stare blankly, with jaw on the floor, and say, "WHO IS HE?!"
Went to work on Monday. Talking with KMC, who is an absolute sweetheart, telling her about said cute boy, tossing around ideas as to who he might be, when suddenly it dawned on me. He could be the cute boy from the Gap who folded jeans for 3 hours the other night. We talked more. She knows him, knows his best friend. It IS him.
So what did I do when I got to the mall that night? Yep, went straight to the Gap and appologized for not realizign who he was when he said hi to me on Friday night. He said it was okay and we chatted hockey for a while. Later in the evening, after talking to my sister, I had to go back and discuss the fact that he played hockey with my brother-in-law in high school.
My hockey world shrunk.
Sunday was spent on the phone with A, B & C. I think we got somewhere with the travel plans, but after 3 hours on the phone & online, I got kinda frustrated and left the conversation. Oh, A realized it wasn't going anywhere after about the first half hour, so B & C and I were the ones making plans. Or rather, attempting to make plans! Nothing concrete except where we will stay and where we will have dinner on the Saturday night. Maybe.
A brief comment about work... When your manager is leaving, and you were scheduled to have a meeting on his last (or so) day, do you continue with the meeting plans or turn it into a going-away party? Such was the discussion for much of the day. It was quite amusing. :)
Ah, dinner time. I guess I am a bit on the hungry side......
