happy 2006

12:30 a.m. January 1st. I can't believe it's already 2006! I had hoped for a big bash. Instead, I went to the hockey game (we won!) and came home, made pizza, served snacks to my parents and their friends from Toronto. (I was the 5th wheel all weekend - even more reason for wanting to do it up BIG, but alas!) The friends didn't stay up until midnight, so I served the sparkling grape juice - pink in honor of champagne - and Mom, Dad & I watched the ball drop and now everyone has gone to bed. And you know, I'm not all that impressed with the dropping of the ball anyways. I think it's overrated. And I'm alone. Whatever.

We are at meeting all day on the 1st, so I'd better get some sleep.

I finally got on another ferry. Hey, they cost money and you have to have the time to go somewhere... Anyways, a bunch of us went to Bainbridge Island for dinner Saturday night. We ate at Cafe Nola and it was FAB! But then we had to run to catch the 10:30 ferry back to Seattle. But it was FUN!!! :) And I think I could live over there. :)

So I went on a date on Monday night. This guy could be my twin as far as hockey & coffee go. He likes his booze a little too much to be my identical twin. He turned 21 on Monday and wanted me to meet him out. I'm so not a bar person, but this little place across the corner from the arena is clean and fairly bright and since it was after the game, I knew just about everyone in there. I went straight from the mall and didn't bother going into the game cuz it was just about over. I had a sandwich while I was waiting and when he finally showed up, he got a drink and ordered his wings to go. We chatted hockey for a while and called one of our friends who was supposed to show up and didn't. By this time, it was getting late and I had to work early, so we left. As we were walking out, he was like "Oh, the guys are just getting on the bus. I need an autograph from NP. Do you want to walk over there with me?" I shrugged and followed him over.
