it's monday
Like totally and completely Monday. What went wrong, you ask? Well...
My grandfather hasn't been well recently and last night was pretty bad. He wasn't any better this morning. I didn't have to be to work until 8:15, so I was just getting around and dressed and packing up my lunch when my sister called and said "can someone meet me at work (to get my niece) because I'm running late?" I had to be that someone because m&d were taking care of Grandpa. So that made for a stressful morning and I ended up being late for work. But that was okay, I just jumped in and started doing what needed to be done.
Things went down hill fast after A rolled his eyes at me (twice) because 1) he was misguiding one of the new guys and 2) he was measuring wrong and said it was okay because it wasn't very much over. I called him on both and he rolled his eyes at me both times. Trust me, I'm pretty non-confrontational, but when it comes to product specifications, I'm all about following the rules. After that, I pretty much stopped talking to him.
Then at one point, my mom called to say they were taking Grandpa to the hospital in the ambulance. This news didn't come as any surprise, but it was still a little stressful. I guess the worst part was that I couldn't get anything done. I had projects going on in the front of the store, in the back of the store, in the middle of the store..... Guy friend came in and I couldn't even say hi to him! I got really frustrated because I couldn't get anything done and ended up giving myself a HUGE headache.
Things have been better since I've been home. It's quiet and I took 3 Advil. (That reminds me of a story...) Mom called to say that they finally got Grandpa lying down and the admitting doctor was consulting with the orthopedic doctor and there was a possibility of a hairline fracture, but can't remember if it was in his hip or his leg? Anyways, Mom said not to worry and not to come to the hospital, so here I am.
The weekend was pretty good. I did nothing on Friday night. Saturday night, K (guy), L & R and I were supposed to go to an event at the university. An hour later, it still hadn't started and we went in search of food. We went to, um, 7 restaurants before we found one where we could walk in and eat. Apparently I haven't tried eating out on a Saturday evening in a l..o..n..g time! So we ended up at this catering place that recently opened for dinner. Food was good, presentation was amazing! K & L had drinks, R & I did not. We all shared an appetizer. The bill came to $125! It was 9:45 by the time we got out of there.
From there, I went to catch the end of the Jr. B playoff game. They lost, but turned around and won on Sunday and then won in the mini-game to progress to the next round. Guess what I'm doing next weekend?! :) Speaking of hockey, my AHL team won back-to-back games, then lost yesterday. I think we're "12 points out of a playoff spot." It's hockey, but I think I'd still rather watch the Jr. Bs. Oooohhh... cute manager from the Gap was at the game. I didn't talk to him.
Oh yes, the Advil story. A couple of years ago, a friend asked for Advil and I was like "how many do you want?" He gives me this strange look and says "1". I was like "you only take one?!" To which he replies, "That's how many you're supposed to take. Why? How many do you take?" I said "4" and he about fell over. In the following years, I've managed to wean myself back to 2, but my headache today was so intense I took 3. My headache is gone, so I can blame either the Advil or the quietness of my house. Whichever, I feel much better than I did 2 hours ago.
Here are some fun websites I've discovered: Sketch Swap (haven't quite figured out what this one is about, but it's fun to draw stuff) and Pizza Hut (this is fun because you can play with the cheesy bites)

your friend is wrong. YOu're supposed to take advil based on weight and a normal healthy person can take three to four advil at once every four hours. I've been told this by several nurses and doctors. Still I could be wrong and your friend could be right. :) Ciao!
